Getting started with Ascent Reader

From an empty shelf to reading, in a few steps.

1. Open the reader

In the browser, open the menu and tap Reader mode.

2. Add an extension repository

Sources are provided by extensions, and extensions come from repositories. Ascent Reader does not include any, and does not recommend particular repositories or sites.

1. Go to Discover → Extensions.
2. Open the menu and choose the repository settings, then Add.
3. Paste the address of a repository you trust. Repositories are run by third parties, and extensions run code inside the reader, so add only ones you trust.

3. Install an extension

Back in Extensions, install the sources you want. Filter by language with the language button.

4. Find a series

In Discover → Sources, open a source to browse Popular and Latest, or search. Open a series and tap Add to library to put it on your shelf.

5. Read

Tap Start or a chapter. Tap the middle of the page to show the menu:

• Translate: tap to turn page translation on or off; press and hold to choose languages.
• Settings: reading mode (long strip by default), page layout, colours and more.
